Latest official visit plans for Gamecocks
January 18, 2018
Change of plans
Coming off his trip to Auburn last weekend, 4-star offensive tackle Dylan Wonnum was originally slated to take his official visit to South Carolina this weekend. Instead, he’ll head to Tennessee.
Have no fear, Gamecock fans. Wonnum (Tucker, Ga.) is still taking an official visit to South Carolina. SEC Country has also confirmed that trip has been moved to the final weekend of the month.
The official guests
Three-star defensive tackle LaMarius Benson (Covington, Ga.), one of the few commitments to the 2018 class, will take his official visit to South Carolina this weekend.
Benson, of course, is committed to the Gamecocks as an offensive lineman.
Wide receiver signees Tyquan Johnson and Josh Vann will also be on campus this weekend as official visitors, along with 4-star defensive tackle Dennis Briggs (Kissimmee, Fla.). He visited Miami last weekend and is expected at Florida State for his final trip.
Other plans
Former Arkansas commitment John Mincey (Homerville, Ga.) is slated to take an official visit to Tennessee. The 3-star defensive end will see South Carolina next weekend.
It’s the same story for 4-star defensive tackle Rick Sandidge, though he’ll be in Chapel Hill this weekend on an official visit to North Carolina. Georgia hosted him last weekend. South Carolina is up next weekend for his third-and-final stop.
