LB Amonte Caban remains highly interested in Gamecocks

4 star LB Amonte Caban 6'2" 217lbs of Smith’s Station, AL wasn’t able to make USC’s camp last weekend but that’s no indication of declining interest on his part.
“I didn’t make it to camp I’m going to one of their games,” Caban said. “I talked to coach Botkin a couple of days ago. He was disappointed I didn’t make it because he wanted to work with me. I talk to coach Botkin a couple of times a week.”
Caban says his favorites are USC, Clemson, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Louisville and Kentucky. But he added he hasn’t heard from Clemson in some time. There is no favorite but USC and Kentucky have been recruiting him the hardest.
“Both have what I like,” Caban said, “and this one might have something that this one doesn’t.”
Caban did visit USC for a junior day earlier this year. He has also been to Tennessee, Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn and Vanderbilt. He wants to make his decision around the middle of August and no later than September 1st.
Oklahoma just recently started to recruit Caban and he plans to take in a game there this season.
