Allen-Williams explains top ten

03/03/13

4 star LB Bryson Allen-Williams 6'3" 220lbs of Ellenwood, GA tweeted his 'new top ten' last week of USC, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Auburn, Arkansas, Wisconsin and NC State in that order. "I picked my top ten by the schools that were showing me the most interest," he said. "I've built a good relationship with the coaches so that's why I chose them." Since then, things have gotten more complicated. "As soon as I put that out there, some schools that weren't in my top ten started hitting me up," said Allen-Williams. "Clemson is one of those schools and they're moving up (my list). I talked to the coaches and they want me to come up one Saturday so they can tell me their plans for how they're going to use me." The Gamecocks, however, still lead for his services. "It's going to be hard to knock them off because they were one of the first to offer me and they've been on me from the beginning," he said. "I've got a real good relationship with coach (Lorenzo) Ward." He plans to visit Alabama this weekend and USC March 23rd. Allen-Williams still plans to make his announcement in August.

Bryson Allen-Williams has had himself a busy weekend.

03/10/13

On Saturday, 4 star Bryson Allen-Williams 6'3" 220lbs made a visit to Alabama to check out one of his top two favorites, with USC his leader, and learn more about the Alabama football program. The Crimson Tide obviously have a lot to sell to a talented player like Allen-Williams as their recent success on the football field is hard to overlook.

Allen-Williams left the Alabama visit with South Carolina still in the lead. The Gamecocks got in early with him and it has given them quite the edge on the other big-time programs that have stepped forward with offers in the past month or so. South Carolina's coaching staff has formed a great relationship with Allen-Williams and it is also the favorite of his mother, who is heavily involved in his recruitment.

So while the Crimson Tide are making a push, South Carolina still has to feel good about what they've done at this point and their chances going forward with Allen-Williams.

After his Alabama visit, Allen-Williams was up early to take part in the VTO Sports Prep 100 combine in Atlanta on Sunday. Allen-Williams made a statement as he was given the MVP award at the linebacker position today.

It was a busy weekend but they'll only continue. Allen-Williams is set to take a trip to Knoxville next weekend to visit Tennessee on Junior Day.

This young man will be all over the place in the coming months, but right now, it's a South Carolina and Alabama battle.

Allen-Williams to hit up UT Saturday

03/14/13

4 star LB Bryson Allen-Williams 6'3" 220lbs of Ellenwood, GA will continue his spring tour of schools Saturday when he visits Tennessee. He also has been to USC, Alabama and Georgia and he plans to get to Clemson soon. He will return to USC later this month for another junior day. Allen-Williams has a top ten of USC, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Auburn, Arkansas, Wisconsin and NC State. And that's the order for now. "It might change as I develop relationships with new coaches," he said. "I like Florida State a lot and they could slide in." Clemson is another school to watch for. "I've developed a good relationship with coach Hobby and coach Venables," he said. "They are hitting me up hard and I really like Clemson." Allen-Williams said USC recruiter Lorenzo Ward is in touch with him every day. "He talks a lot to my mom on Facebook," he said. Allen-Williams had set August 9th for a decision but it might not happen then. "It's getting pretty hard," he said. "I don't want to rush anything."
