LB Channing Tindall mulling weekend visit plans

December 12, 2017

ROEBUCK, S.C. – Four-star linebacker Channing Tindall, one of the top South Carolina recruiting targets for 2018, is nearing his decision.

Three SEC schools are the primary contenders for the No. 91 overall prospect in country: Auburn, Georgia and South Carolina.

Tindall’s plans, for the most part, remain unchanged from November, when he received his U.S. Army All-American jersey. That’s according to his coach from Spring Valley High School (Columbia, S.C.), Robin Bacon, who’s coaching wide receivers for the South Carolina Shrine Bowl team.

“I think he’s probably going to [commit] sometime in the latter part of December,” Bacon said. “It’s kind of what he said, now I don’t know if he’ll bump that back to the U.S. Army game. That’s what he’s planning on doing, which is [Jan. 6]. Right now, he’s going to do it in the latter part of December, so I think he may be going on a visit this weekend.

“He might be going to Georgia this weekend. He went to Auburn a couple of weeks ago and he’s been to South Carolina. I’m not real sure, because I left [Columbia] on Saturday.”

Bacon wasn’t sure whether if Tindall would sign during the early period (Dec. 20-22) or wait until the first Wednesday in February, which is the traditional signing day. But this much is certain: Tindall will not graduate high school this month.
