3 star LB [COLOR= rgb(178, 34, 34)]TJ Brunson [/COLOR]6'1" 220lbs of Richland Northeast has been a regular at USC’s practices this spring and he likely will be on the sideline Saturday inside Williams-Brice Stadium for the Gamecocks’ first full scrimmage of spring. USC also has a junior day Saturday and though invited, Brunson said he’s not sure if he’ll participate fully in those activities.
Brunson was prepared to commit to the Gamecocks earlier this month but held off doing so because USC wants to see how healthy his hip is after having arthroscopic surgery. In the interim, Brunson said he’s been hearing regularly from Gamecock recruiters Steve Spurrier Jr., Kirk Botkin and Lorenzo Ward.
“The offer is still good and they are going to wait until my senior year to evaluate some film and make sure I can still play,” said Brunson who recorded 134 tackles last season. “They are still up there but not committing I get to make sure I’m 100%, which I was. I still am. I’m sure of it, but I get the chance to see some other schools. I was going to take my officials anyway. But they are still #1.”
Brunson said he will also attend USC’s spring game April 11th. He also has visited NC State and Florida State and is going to Georgia Southern April 18th for a junior day. He said he now might wait until his season or after it to finalize a decision.
