... is how I feel waiting to hear about the new staff. CSB certainly indicated there was a ton of interest in the jobs that were open ... now we just have to wait.

Things should pick up after the BOT approves his contract.

I believe they said it would be 8 days after the formal announcement.

Beams says he's going to take his time because that was the advice he was given.

I mentioned in another thread that I have a friend for about 20 years, and he is from Blacksburg. His entire family is from, and has worked at VT. He called me last week to talk about my thoughts on Coach Beamer. I knew that his family knew the Beamers, but as we talked, I mentioned the ESPN article that described Shane Beamer standing on the deck and calling out plays to the kids playing football in the yard. My friend told me that he was one of those kids playing in the yard, and he remembered some of the things mentioned in the article. He then told me about how, as a kid, he spent lots of time at the Beamer house, because even though he and Shane weren’t best buddies, he was part of the group of kids that hung out there a lot. He said that he did not understand at the age of 11 or 12, what a privilege he had of hanging out with a family like the Beamers. Upon reflection, he told me that Carolina should do quite well with that family at the helm. He said what has already been said by others, the Frank Beamer will be very much in an advisory role to Shane, and Shane will be given advice on how to avoid pitfalls and mistakes made by the previous coach. He finished by telling me that although he would forever blend maroon and orange for VT, he is now a fan of Carolina for the fact of who our coach is.
I am very excited to see how Coach Beamer transforms the program, and I think the administration finally got this right.

From your lips to God's ears...I'd love to be in on the ground floor of a 20 year run of a coaching legend.  I'm not sure that's possible anymore, but I can dream.

I’m hoping and dreaming, too. If it could happen, I think Beamer could be the one to make it happen. I would love to be able to hear about coaches from the “Beamer Coaching Tree at South Carolina” in 10 years.
