Is Mazeo Bennett’s commitment to Tennessee a sign of trouble for the South Carolina Gamecocks?!
LOCKED ON GAMECOCKS

139 views Premiered 95 minutes ago On today's show, Andrew talks about what the commitment of 2024 WR Mazeo Bennett to Tennessee means for Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecock's in terms of their offensive product negatively impacting recruiting at the position.

He starts by noting why this is a commitment fans shouldn't just skim over, goes back over the previous and current recruiting cycles naming offensive skill prospects South Carolina has lost out on and where they stand with their targets remaining on the 2023 and 2024 WR recruiting board.

Andrew then goes over how teams South Carolina either plays occasionally or annually are doing on offense compared to them and discusses how putting up great offensive numbers work in a terms favor in terms of recruiting highly touted wide receivers by looking at how many blue-chip prospects those teams have collectively reeled in compared to South Carolina.

Lastly, he summarizes why Bennett's commitment to Tennessee should sound the alarm on how the offense's performance is hurting them at this key position, how changes in the recruiting calendar and rules over recent years have changed the process for many prospects, and how a lack of talent at the wide receiver position can hold back an offense overall!

Year 2 under a new HC is always pretty good.

We'll see good recruits come out of the woodwork wanting to play for us with a winning season and good bowl win.

I would think there are as many priorities as there are recruits; hard to say what drives their decisions most of the time.

You can't argue with Heupel's success there up to this point, though.
