Even though dreams of an SEC Championship are gone and this season hasn't gone as expected for South Carolina, recruiting coordinator Steve Spurrier Jr. said that there hasn't been any impact on the recruiting trail. Even though he's unable to speak about specific recruits, Spurrier Jr. said it's business as usual on the recruiting front.
"All of those guys are committed. Not one recruit has asked about anything," Spurrier Jr. said. "We have no issues in recruiting whatsoever. We're not getting into trouble, not getting beat by 50, don't have guys quitting on us. If anything, guys recognize the opportunity to come play at positions. No affect on recruiting. Still a good team and good program. The things we sold at the beginning of the year, we're still selling. We just lost some close games. If you start thinking about some teams that have a lot of issues, we're not one of them. We have a few we're not happy about but with recruiting and how that goes, we have no issues."
The Gamecocks, which have 27 commitments at the moment, are likely to take a couple more players before national signing day, which is February 4 this recruiting cycle
