Mark Kingston News Conference — 6/4/19
Year two of the Mark Kingston era at USC did not go well. After taking the Gamecocks to within one game of Omaha in his first season, Kingston had to deal with multiple injuries to his pitching staff and an offensive downturn that could not compensate for the pitching woes. The result was a season that saw the Gamecocks miss the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three seasons.
Tuesday afternoon at Founders Park, Kingston met with the media, not so much to recap the season but to announce some changes in duties for his assistants, and to send a message to his fanbase that his team will be back stronger and better in 2020.
