@FeatheredCock, CFM is not on the hot seat b/c he doesn’t have a seat at this point.

He’s got a HARD row to hoe the rest of the way this year.  He, in my estimation, only keeps his job if he hits 20+ wins OR places 1st or 2nd in the SEC tournament.  Otherwise, the jury will show that the post-2017 NCAA skid has continued and is not showing signs of finding an emergency brake.

Hear me well when I tell you I’m not a Frank hater.  Never have been.  But this year was his chance to show he could win again.  He’s not done that.

The SEC has punished us, and we look worse and worse each game.  Same mistakes with the statistical numbers of things we’re not doing well getting worse instead of better.

The seat is not his to have at this point, unfortunately.

With an SEC record of 1-4, two of those losses at home, things are getting desperate.   USC must win over UGA and Vandy at home in the next two games to create a situation that looks possible.  Lose both of those games and I think a losing record in the SEC is likely a sure thing.  Win both games and they will be 3-4 with at least some chance of salvaging the season.

I believe we need to go no worse than 9-9 in the SEC and then win at least one SECT game to have any chance of an at large bid.  Win less than 9 regular season games and we'll have to win the SECT to get in to the NCAAT.    I believe it is possible for this team to play better.  But they will need to begin against UGA.

At this very moment, Gamecock basketball is 67-67 since the Final Four run.  That should have been a springboard for much greater things.

We all know the trademark negative tendencies of Frank's teams, but I still feel this is a good team that may reduce Frank's textbook SEC losing streaks by half and finish out the season better than expected at this point.
