We were down 36-30 at the half, but had a great second half to get the win.

A seemingly meaningless OOC game, but the diamond is Lamont speaking about Nick's improvement at the FT line. Great coaches figure out how to get players to improve.

Not worried about SEC play at this point.

The first half against Radford was some of the worst basketball I have seen from a South Carolina team. It was bad. If they have a repeat of that same half of performance against an SEC team, they will lose by 20+ points. And through the non-conference part of the season, SC has had frequent slow starts. They can't afford to not be prepared to play at tip-off going forward.

Now that being said, if the Gamecocks can play like they did in the second half for entire games, they can be competitive in conference play. If the team can defend home court and manage to steal a few away games, they have a chance to do some dancing. I hope this team continues to improve under Coach Paris; we shall see, because the rubber is about to hit the road.
