3 star Dillon junior quarterback Avery McCall 6'0" 191lbs is having a fabulous season. Going into this Friday’s game, McCall is completing 76% of his passes for 1505 yards, 20 touchdowns and only 1 interception. Tuesday he picked up an offer from Old Dominion to go along with earlier ones from USC, Clemson, North Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, Ohio State, NC State and Duke.

But, the two in-state programs don’t appear to be all that excited about McCall right now. Clemson has a commitment from a 2016 quarterback in Zerrick Cooper and USC is going very hard after Brandon McIlwain, and their contact with McCall hasn’t been overwhelming according to Wildcat coach Jackie Hayes.

“He’s just enjoying playing at Dillon right now,” Hayes said. “He’s not saying much (about recruiting).”

McCall’s only game visit this season was to East Carolina. The Pirates like to throw the ball around a lot and McCall does too.

“The ECU offense kind of fits me a little bit,” he said.

McCall said he might go to Florida State this weekend for the Notre Dame game and he thinks the Seminoles could be close to offering. As for USC and Clemson, McCall is keeping open the lines of communication despite their other interests.

“South Carolina has been there since my freshman year,” he said. “I last talked to them a couple of weeks ago. And I plan to go to a Clemson game. I don’t have a favorite. I’m just focused on the season.”

Senior receiver Er’ieon Hayes is McCalls’ favorite target though he was picked for the Shrine Bowl as a defensive back. He also was offered by Old Dominion and also visited East Carolina. He also has offers from East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern and Appalachian State.

What is 3 star about those stats? 76% completion rate? 20 td's and only 1 interception??? That's obscene! We've gotta have him! And who is that receiver, #5???
