4 star DB Micah Abernathy 6'1" 181lbs of Norcross, GA continues to speak with USC assistant coach G.A. Mangus and said he remains interested in the Gamecocks. Abernathy has yet to narrow his list but that could change soon. “I think I’m getting closer to narrowing my list and concentrating on the schools I’m interested in,” he said. “I would like to get it down to around eight schools.”

One of those schools could be USC. Abernathy has plans to attend a game at Williams-Brice this upcoming season though those plans are not concrete. “I’d like to get up there but it will depend on my schedule and whether or not I can fit it n,” Abernathy said. “I do want to go if I can.”

Whether or not that trip would be an official or unofficial visit is this up in the air. Abernathy said the Gamecocks continue to show interest. He is planning trips to Ohio State, Tennessee and Georgia this summer and would like to attend games at USC, Oregon and Ohio State this fall. He did not name any favorites.

That guy is one of the most gifted prospects on the entire board. Why on earth would we play him at DB? He's the best runniong back I've seen. You can't tackle him - you can't catch him! He almost doesn't let anybody lay a hand on him!

Sounds like a great candidate for a future punt/kickoff returner to me.
