3 star DL Deshaywn Middleton (6-2 285) of Winston-Salem has offers from The Citadel, NC State, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, Hampton and Duke with interest from USC. Though he has not spoken with the Gamecocks, Middleton says his coach has. "They're supposed to come by and see me at some point," said Middleton. "J.T. Surratt is a friend of my brother's and told me they have asked about me and to just stay patient." Middleton says that NC State and Wake Forest are showing the most interest. "I'm not going to lie, it's appreciated," he said. "I'm really getting to know the new coaching staff at (NC) State and I'm heading back to Wake Forest this weekend." Even with that, he would love to hear from USC. "J.T. is always coming back showing off his rings," said Middleton. "I went down there for a game and, man, they get crazy. They have fans like that and they get rings all of the time." Middleton has family in Charleston and is planning to visit the The Citadel this season. "I'll probably go down there when they play Appalachian State or something to check them out," he said. He does not have any leaders saying, "Recruiting is just getting started. It's too early to have favorites.
