Monday morning recruiting news
Dec. 26, 2022

2024 LB Andrew Hines III (6-1 215) of Atlanta released his top dozen on Sunday and he has USC in the list. The others are Harvard, Cal, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, and Duke. Hines visited South Carolina for the Clemson game in 2021. He’s also visited Clemson multiple times but the Tigers haven’t offered.

South Carolina is among the top ten schools named over the weekend by DT Kamarion Franklin (6-5 260) of Lake Cormorant, MS. The others on his short list are Tennessee, Texas A&M, Miami, Mississippi State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, Florida State, and Michigan.

South Carolina commitment DE Zavion Hardy said he did not hear back from the NCAA Clearinghouse Friday, so he will not sign until February 1st. Hardy said he remains locked in with the Gamecocks.

South Carolina 2024 commitment QB Dante Reno said Friday he has not yet decided if he will enroll next month. “We are going to see how everything plays out after bowl game now.” USC has 7 QBs now, so Reno is waiting to see what attrition there might be after the bowl game.
