Monday morning visit updates

November 19, 2018

ATH Xavier Legette of Mullins was back at USC Saturday night. The Gamecocks have a grayshirt offer on the table with him right now.  Legette said he arrived late due to traffic and did not get the chance to talk much with the coaches.  He might return for the Akron game.  He said Connecticut recently contacted his coach about him.

USC RB target Tahj Gary of Atlanta had surgery Saturday for a broken leg he suffered Friday night.  He had planned to take an unofficial visit to USC Saturday.  He also has an official visit scheduled with the Gamecocks for December 7th.  He’s a Virginia Tech commitment and is scheduled to visit there officially November 30th.  Of course, the visits are tentative due to his ability to move around.  He plans to be an early signee.

2020 DL Jah-Marien Latham of Reform, AL visited USC Saturday.  “It went good,  had an amazing time.  I really love the atmosphere. The fans showed a lot of love. The coaches treated me as if I was already on the team. Just overall everything stood out to me. I loved the visit can’t wait to go back.”  He also picked up an offer from Alabama Saturday. “It means a lot to me. I’ve always dreamed of playing at Alabama. Just getting the offer sent chills over my body.”

2020 OL Avery Jernigan of Blackshear, GA was on hand at USC Saturday night.  He already has a Gamecock offer.   “I had a great time Saturday. I really enjoyed getting to talk to the coaches then watching the game and getting to go in the locker room after the game. I really like USC, they are definitely a program that’s on the rise.  Coach Wolf (OL coach Eric Wolford) says he likes my feet and the way I play,  likes the attitude with which I play.”  He also has offers from Auburn, Vanderbilt, Nebraska and Vanderbilt.  He also has visited Auburn, Florida State and Mississippi State.

2020 PK Axel Lepvreau of Bradenton, FL was back at USC Saturday for a second unofficial visit.  “I hope a spot will be available for the class of 2020 because I am ready to give the Gamecocks my commitment if they believe I can be part of the program. I had a great time and really enjoyed my visit, even had the opportunity to get access to the locker room.”

2020 LB Will Troutman of Roswell, GA made an unofficial visit to USC Saturday.  “I loved South Carolina.  The campus was really nice as well as the facilities. I met Coach Hutzler as soon as I got to the stadium. I love the coaches, they have a lot of good energy. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric and loud even for a smaller game when the stands were not full. I feel honored to have been invited down to South Carolina by the coaches but right now it is really early in the process and I don’t know what their interest is in me. I love the school, I love the program, I had a really great experience but at this point I do not know their level of interest in me is.”  Troutman also visited Kentucky twice this season.

2020 OL Colby Todd of Aynor also visited USC Saturday.
