Kinlaw schedules official visits

Former South Carolina defensive tackle commitment Javon Kinlaw from Goose Creek, S.C., has started to make official visit arrangements for the month of January.

“I got Ole Miss on the 20th and Alabama on 27th,” Kinlaw said. “Might move Alabama to an earlier date and put South Carolina on the 27th.”

Louisville, Maryland and Tennessee have previously been mentioned as potential suitors since Kinlaw backed off his commitment to the Gamecocks.

“I’m not sure,” Kinlaw said, when asked about the other two official visit locations.
“And I’m taking all my visits.”

Last week, Kinlaw detailed a recent conversation with Muschamp, who continues to pursue the 2017 prospect. Kinlaw is scheduled to graduate from Mississippi’s Jones County Junior College.

Belk returns to Columbia

Four-star defensive tackle Josh Belk visited South Carolina this past Saturday for the Western Carolina game.
The 2018 prospect from Lewisville High School in Richburg, S.C., detailed the visit in an interview with Phil Kornblut.

“The coaches showed love,” Belk said. “I talked to coach (Lance) Thompson and he told me to keep up the good work, and coach Muschamp said they are rising up and rebuilding right now. They are a young team and didn’t give up, just kept playing.”

Belk is scheduled to return to Clemson on Saturday when South Carolina heads to Death Valley.

Recruiting roundup

Offensive tackle target Jerry Drake Jr. scored two offers on Tuesday: Michigan State and UCLA. The 3-star prospect from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., hasn’t taken another official visit since his trips to South Carolina and Tennessee.

The No. 73-ranked offensive tackle in the Class of 2017 is on track to graduate from high school in December.
