More on Isaiah Jatta & Oluwatosin Babalade
Dec. 14, 2022

The impressive offensive line group the Gamecocks had pieced together in the 2023 class took a big hit Tuesday when two of the five announced decommitments. Isaiah Jatta of San Diego and Snow JC, UT had been committed since June 24th. He took his official visit on September 23rd and continued to hold on to his commitment through the season. But Auburn offered recently and he took an official visit there last weekend. He followed that up with an official visit to BYU Sunday-Monday.

Jatta has closed the door on the Gamecocks, but Oluwatosin Babalade of Hyattsville, MD, has not, despite de-committing as well on Tuesday. He put out a brief Twitter statement in which he said he just needs more time to think about things. Babalade confirmed Tuesday night USC is still in play with him. His decommitment came the day after his in-home visit with the USC coaches. Babalade made official visits to South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio State, Rutgers, and Maryland before committing to the Gamecocks on August 5th.

West coast guys are so far away from their families and they're still young kids.

I expect things to stabilize once Loggains gets settled in.
