Sometimes you're going to have games you just want to move past, forget, and delete from your collective conciousness. This was one of those. Let's hope they can learn what lessons they can learn, take away from it what they can, and go and get ready for Vandy.

We MAY beat Vandy, after that I don't see a win. Can anyone honestly say that this Coaching Staff was a good hire? The last couple of years are a total embarrassment. And I lived thru the 1-21 years. But at least then I saw some light at the end of the tunnel. I think I have finally broken my Garnet Glasses

I remember them saying Shane was the first new HC start 2-0 since Richard Bell; I think we all remember how that went.  4-7 and he was gone.  Enter Joe Morrison.

Obviously that won't happen with Shane, but I remember wondering if that was an omen for this season when Tommy said it.

I won't be putting any more money into cable TV or streaming until we quit sucking so badly.  A guy I know who used to be a booster said it's not so bad since he doesn't give money anymore.  So there's that, too, this season at a time when they're trying to make up for lost revenue from last year.

I need to lose 30 lbs. and the weather is starting to get nice.  Guess I will do things other than watching our games for a while on Saturdays.  Probably won't be the only one.

The University is taking a shot with Shane a guy with no HC experience, he will be a work in process and the hope is to surround himself with great coordinators. We also need time to get better players. Like many I question the OL coach but before we throw in the towel on some level we must admit s game or two like this would occur for a team like ours

I look at this game today and am furious with Ray Tanner!!!! He took what Spurrier built and squashed it with his ineptitude! Very sad.
As far as the game goes, halftime adjustments came way too late and don't even talk about that interception on the 2 yard line!!!
And now Ray wants to kick off a huge fundraising campaign? SMH

We all knew this staff was a gamble. As Satterfield said last week,  there's a lot of scar tissue on this team, too. Work in progress is correct.

Go Cocks! Beat Vandy! Please!

I'm not sure what people were expecting? We won two games last year and fired our coach halfway through. And there was a reason for that. we sucked. and still do. We were never supposed to turn things around in 1 season. Building a program takes time.

No one expected the Gamecocks to be world-beaters in 2021. Beamer inherited a program that’s won six games since 2019. USC hasn’t finished better than 4-4 in the SEC since 2018.  This fall was always going to be a work in progress. Saturday’s first half showed how much work remains to be done. Give it time like you saying Spur.

Shane needs to man up and dump his OC. The longer he waits, it only gets worse.

USC is not that much further behind these other teams in talent.

Just saying, ladies and gents.

To me More of a talent issues along with some coaching issues and players between the ears, Teams like Kentucky, Georgia even CCU are having fun they want the rock along with Great leadership and confidence. Going to take some fixing here.

Have I been disappointed?   Sure.  What did I expect our record to be after 6 games?  3 - 3.  I'm not ready to hit the panic button just yet.

That's where I am. I already wrote off this year as a crappy one before the first snap of the first game. I mean I did expect for us to look like we belonged on the same field with our SEC opponents, but nonetheless things have worked out from a W/L standpoint about how I expected.

I think I guessed 5 wins so still doable. I’m also not wanting to fire anyone on the spot but if things continue to play out as they have, our OL needs a good hard look.

Part of the issue for us as fans is that none of our games have really made us fee any better about the team. The first win was sort of nice, but everybody knew that team was playing up a division. ECU we barely squeaked by a team that seemed better coached but with lesser talent. Troy was as ugly a game as you could imagine. So even when we win, it's in such fashion that by Sunday we aren't feeling any better about the team.

Maybe Vandy will help with that.

Losing to Vandy (they are terrible) would be an unmitigated disaster.

Yes that would be ... a wound that nobody, fans or coaches, would shrug off quickly. Vegas likes us by 16, so hopefully that's how it goes.
We "should" be able to run the ball down their throats.  I'm also hoping our defense can get to their QB often.

Ray isn't very impressive as an AD but Spurrier took what Spurrier built and drove it in the ditch.  Tanner watched.

Anyone expecting major results this quickly set themselves up to be disappointed.  It will take time, better players and maybe some staff changes along the way as all programs have to while they build.  I'm as frustrated at where we are now as the next guy but still very optimistic that Shane can turn it around if given support and much more time.  Fans need to be patient.
