Okay lets get down and dirty on a serious list of people who are attainable and affordable and would be willing to come here. The first thing we need to do is eliminate any graduates of the university. Regardless of how great they were here or what they have done other places they are not good qualified hires; Zam Fredrick, Bj McKie, Melvin Watson, Mike Dunleavy, Brian Winters, Bobby Cremins etc. Just forget all those names

Gregg Marshall- I know some reports are out there that he may not be a candidate, but wether he wants to be or not, he is. I however, dont think he will come, just a personal opinion.

Shaka Smart- I dont believe he is a candidate because he has the Illinois job locked up if he wants it

Frank Martin- He has had nice success at Kansas State, but the team he had 2 years ago is probably the best he will ever have there. Is time to get out is now and cash in on the success he has had. He is a native of Miami and I am sure would love to be back in the Southeast rather than the little apple.

Jamie Dixon- Again, don't laugh at this one. There are some grumblings about him up there in Pitt. He has had great teams but never made a Final Four and now his program is having a little slide. He is affordable and one hell of a coach.

Keith Dambrot- University of Akron coach and high school coach of LeBron James. Now, you talk about being able to recruit. He still maintains a tremendous relationship with James. His team is dressed by LeBron Nike gear.

Tubby Smith- This is a very realistic possibility though I know some fans will feel this is a bad choice. He left Kentucky on his own and took the Minnesota gig. He thought he would have some more support from the athletics department but he hasnt. They have poured their resources into football and at a place like Minny you need support. Some will point to Tubby as not being a great recruiter, which is not necessarily true. At Kentucky he was caught between a rock and hard place. His style of coaching isnt suited for the all american type players, he likes more blue collar guys. His best team was full of guys like Gerald Fitch, Erik Daniels, Cliff Hawkins etc, not a who's who of all americans. He had teams with guys like Randolph Morriss, Rajon Rondo and Joe Crawford who all struggled with bad attitudes under his tutelage. He would be a great hire. Very affordable and would give the program a national profile after it is on fire in the dumpster. Does that remind you of anything, when the school hired a retired football coach?
