South Carolina landed its third defensive back commitment in two days with a pledge Saturday from DB Jaylin Dickerson of Southern Pines, N.C.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Dickerson is being recruited as a safety. He recently camped for Will Muschamp and South Carolina. His other offers include Virginia, East Carolina and Appalachian State, among others.
Recruiting expert Tom Lemming described Dickerson as “a hard-hitting free safety.” He had 122 tackles in 2015 for Pinecrest High.
South Carolina landed two commits from cornerbacks on Friday: Damarri Mathis of Lakeland, Fla.; and Tavyn Jackson of Tallahassee, Fla.
Dickerson’s pledge gives the Gamecocks 17 commitments for their 2017 class.
