Unable to make it to USC over the weekend for a junior day, 4 star WR Irvin Charles (6-4 207) of Haddonville, NJ still has the Gamecocks high on his list. Travel was the major factor in his inability to visit over the weekend but he does plan to visit at some point.
With family in South Carolina, Charles said he is very familiar with the program.
“I’ve never actually visited USC but I have been down there a bunch of times,” Charles said. “I wouldn’t say it’s been a dream of mine to play there necessarily but I would say it’s somewhere I always hoped I would get the chance to play. I love the environment there and watch a lot of their games on television. They always have huge crowds and I like that about them.”
Charles has offers to include USC, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Louisville, Boston College, Pitt, Penn State and Virginia. He plans to narrow his list to eight by the end of April.
Charles has been to a junior day at Rutgers and would like to visit USC, Michigan, Maryland and Louisville.
“I love the way they do things at USC,” he said. “I love their offense and the way they pass the ball.”
He does not have a favorite.
