Nebraska offered that afternoon. TCU offered a day earlier. Several Power 5 schools have also tossed their hats into the ring.
The 6-foot-2.5, 210-pound prospect attends Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Ga., the same school that produced South Carolina wide receiver Lorenzo Nunez.

The 3-star defensive tackle from Towers High School in Decatur, Ga., flipped his commitment from the Gamecocks to the Dawgs on Aug. 8, about two months after his pledge to Muschamp & Co.
According to Wyatt, he still hears from South Carolina defensive line coach Lance Thompson.
Listed as the No. 45 defensive tackle in the class of 2017, Wyatt remains interested in visiting South Carolina again.
Whether that actually happens remains to be seen. But it is certainly interesting that the door has been left open for the Gamecocks, even though it would probably take a lot for them to break through.
Preferred walk-on optionAfter a Monday night tweet from Lou Bezjak of The State newspaper, the name Catriez Cook gained some buzz in the South Carolina recruiting sphere.
South Carolina running backs coach Bobby Bentley delivered the news when Cook visited earlier this month for the Georgia game.
“He (said) that he would like to have me playing for him and that I’m a good back, but they have so many running backs coming that I wouldn’t be a be able to get a scholarship, so I would have to wait until 2018,” Cook said. “I would have to walk on and earn a scholarship.”
The Class of 2017 running back from Gilbert (S.C.) High School has rushed for 1,367 yards and 20 touchdowns this season.
For Cook, whose school is about 40 minutes from Williams-Brice Stadium, walking on at South Carolina is a good option to have in his back pocket.
“I love the atmosphere. I love the fans. They love the game just as much as I do, so I wouldn’t mind playing there, because of how good the atmosphere at the game is,” he said.
Old Dominion and Newberry have offered. Coastal Carolina is in contact. Presbyterian has expressed interest, too.
“I know that if everything doesn’t work out that I can walk on (at South Carolina) and still play the sport that I love,” Cook said.

The No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 will then hit the road on Saturday for one of the biggest college football games of the weekend.

As previously reported, 2017 shooting guard Clyde Trapp Jr. is scheduled to be on campus this weekend for an official visit with Frank Martin and the South Carolina basketball coaches.
“I’m really looking forward to hanging out with the players and seeing my parent reaction to the way I fit in,” Trapp said.
Rice hosted him last month for an official. On Tuesday night, Trapp told SEC Country that Charlotte is scheduled for next weekend and Georgia Tech has been set for the weekend after that.

Earlier this week, Phil Kornblut caught up with 4-star recruit Dakereon Joyner, the top-rated in-state quarterback for the 2018 haul.
Joyner told Kornblut that Muschamp and offensive coordinator Kurt Roper saw him play last week. The Fort Dorchester High School quarterback completed 16 of 24 passes for 398 yards and 6 touchdowns.
South Carolina hosted him for the Georgia game.
“They kept saying that, ‘We need you and you see the kind of offense we run and it fits you perfect,’” Joyner said.
Carson Mason of sportstalksc.com also caught up with 3-star wide receiver Chad Terrell, a 2017 prospect from North Paulding High School in Dallas, Ga.
Apparently, N.C. State is no longer in the mix with South Carolina and Oregon.
“They just dropped down a bit lower for me. The other two seemed more into it,” Terrell said. “I just had to narrow it down a little bit more and they were just the one I eliminated out of the three.”
