New South Carolina OL coach catches up with commitment Dennis Daley
Jan. 10, 2017
Dennis Daley took his official visit to South Carolina in the fall when Shawn Elliott was still on staff as offensive line coach.
Now that Daley (6-6, 280) is back on campus at Georgia Military College, it’s going to be a little while before the 3-star offensive tackle commitment can return to South Carolina.
Newly-hired offensive line coach Eric Wolford had that in mind when he spoke to Daley on Tuesday.
“Basically, he said can’t wait to get to know me and he’s coming to see me so that we can continue getting to know each other,” Daley said.
Wolford will soon be permitted to hit the road to meet with Daley, who was signed and placed by South Carolina after he graduated from Ridge View High School (Columbia, S.C.).

Thursday is the first day of the contact period, which begins runs through Saturday, Jan. 28. The contact period allows college coaches to make off-campus visits with recruits.
“He pretty much felt the same about me, just like Elliott and (Will) Muschamp felt about me as a player,” Daley said. “He had nothing but positive things to say.”
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Daley is the No. 47 overall JUCO prospect in the class of 2017. He’s also listed as the No. 8 offensive tackle.
