Newest football staffs in the SEC, who came out on top?

Missouri, Ole Miss or Arkansas?
To me:

  1. Missouri hiring of HC Eli Drinkwitz from App State.
  2. HC Sam Pittman his top hires of Barry Odom as DC and nice gap  Getting Kendal Briles as his OC.
  3. Ole Miss  new HC Lane Kiffin.  He hasn't made any splash hires yet.

I feel Ole Miss got the ups on this one simply because Ole Miss has more resources to make things happen and Ole Miss does take football serious. I do think Drinks is a good fit at Mizzou. He can coach up with limited talent and money.

Still surprised no one gave Hugh Freeze a shot. Not as a HC per say but at least an OC position. Maybe too soon for most I guess but when someone does give him a shot they are going to be very happy they did.

Freez is making more as HC at liberty than as an SEC OC.  Also way less stress and liberty is putting a bunch of money into the facilities there.  I was there two weeks ago for state football games and was amazed at how nice the whole school and surrounding area is.  If it wasn’t for intense religious aspect, that school could become legit non P5 team.

Back to SEC hirers

1) Arkansas - big time recruiter with the right personality for Arkansas fan base plus great coordinator hirers.

2) Ole Miss - fits the big name need for Ole Miss and will recruit well down there.  Think he can get them back to being solid team that won’t get embarrassed in non con games.

3) Missouri - Drinks is biggest wildcard of the group.  He could be a brilliant hire but can’t give him credit for App State since he was handed that and just didn’t screw it up. I think he will have solid O but just not sure he can do it week in and week out in SEC.
