Summerville High star defensive back Darin Smalls ended his recruitment Saturday when he made the call to play football at the next level in Columbia for the Gamecocks of USC. Tonight Smalls joined us on the program to talk about his commitment.

Smalls is the 7th commitment for the Gamecocks 2014 class, and the second defensive back. He’ll join Wesley Green of Lithonia, Georgia, who also plays in the defensive backfield, who committed to USC one day before Smalls on Friday.
Smalls tells us why he went ahead and pulled the trigger for USC this past weekend, what it will be like to play for two of the most prolific coaches in history at any level, breaks down his skill set for us, and much more.
Smalls would still like to visit Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Florida State, but says his commitment to USC is “definitely” solid.
