strength with the native of Miami. “I like their coaches and the way they address you there,” Davis said. “They are really straight forward. Coach Spurrier is one of the best coaches in the county, so I’d like to play for South Carolina.”

Davis said the Gamecocks’ offer “came out of nowhere. They like my physicalness, speed and size, and they like what I do in the return game and how I look with the ball in my hands.” Davis said he first heard from recruiter Lorenzo Ward Sunday and the offer came Monday.

Some of his other offers are Louisville, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Colorado State, Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas State, Utah and Washington State. He as an official visit scheduled for this weekend at Colorado State.

“I definitely want to take a visit to South Carolina,” Davis said. “I will talk to Coach Ward to see how that can be worked out.”

Davis also wants to take officials to West Virginia, LSU and Florida. The Tigers and Gators haven’t offered yet but he feels they will.

There is no clear favorite but USC, Colorado State and West Virginia are in good position. Davis will be looking for where he can play right away and he wants to make his decision before the season. He will have three years to play two.

In nine games last season, Davis had 33 tackles and 3 interceptions. He also averaged 19 yards per kickoff return and 14 yards per punt return.
