A.J. Lawson, who is testing the draft waters after a stellar freshman season with the Gamecocks, didn’t make the list. Neither did senior Chris Silva.

If you’re not invited to the combine, there’s a good chance you’re not getting drafted. According to Donna Ditota of Syracuse.com, an average of 43 of the draft’s 60 picks were filled by combine participants over the past five seasons.

Hear that A.J. Lawson.

I've had a hard time figuring out where Silva fits into todays NBA.  Lawson should turn into a high draft pick if he stays healthy.

Tough news for SIlva. He can opt for the international leagues or participate in the NBA G-League, if they will have him. Or perhaps both can happen, I'm not sure. For AJ, this is what he was looking for when he put his name in for the NBA Combine: an idea of where he currently stands with getting an opportunity. Hopefully he gets some meaningful advise and critiques on where he needs to develop his game, and brings it back to USC and has a great sophomore season for us. We can certainly use his talents here...
