I think there is some evidence here now to suggest that this could at a minimum be the most competitive game against them in a while.

A lot has been made about putting our corners on islands against Tennessee. They showed out, and I would surely hope that’s the plan this week as well. Clemson’s WR room is down significantly this year and those are matchups that could work in our favor.

Stopping the run is going to be critical defensively because Shipley is a stud and makes that offense go. We have to tackle well because he shredded us last year. If that happens again, it isn’t gonna be pretty.

Offensively, we just saw the game plan: attack, attack, attack, and let Rattler be Rattler. Use the pass to set up the run and simplify what we’re doing. Attack sideline to sideline, and make them defend it all. Clemson’s defense is better than Tennessee’s, but it’s not like their secondary has been some lockdown unit. They’ve been torched at times this year, so Spencer should have some matchup advantages.

We have nothing to lose and the guys should be feeling confident. Come out and punch these guys in the mouth as we did to Tennessee. If we do that, I think we’ll have a shot.
