It's official: http://www.outbackbowl.com/pressbox/index.html

I'm much happier with the Michigan match-up than any of the other possibilities, but we cannot take this Michigan team lightly . . . their 4 losses came against teams with a combined record of 46-4!

They lost the first game of the season on the road at #2 Alabama in a blowout; lost on the road at #1 Notre Dame by 7; lost on the road at Nebraska by 14; and on the road at #3 Ohio State by 5.

UM vs USC, Matchup by the numbers

The Michigan vs South Carolina all time series is tied at 1 win each. The last time the teams played was in 1985 and the Gamecocks lost.

For 2012, Michigan ranked 34th for Strength of Schedule, USC ranked 10th.

Michigan is 8-4 with losses against bama, notre dame, nebraska and ohio state. ALL 4 of their losses were road games. All 4 losses were to ranked teams.

All in All, it's a pretty even matchup. Their OL is much better than ours though. Our DL is much better at effecting the backfield than theirs is though. They are also better at running the ball. We get more turnovers and don't turn it over as much as them. Most of the other rankings are pretty close.

The Gamecocks are going to cap off a great season with a huge bowl victory.

Matchup: Michigan Wolverines vs. South Carolina Gamecocks

Date: Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013

Time: 1 p.m. ET

Venue: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Fla.

Watch: ESPN

Michigan had one of the toughest schedules in the country this year, playing both undefeated teams and both teams in the BCS final. The Wolverines went 8-4, but all four losses came against very talented opponents. Denard Robinson and his teammates will be tough to beat in the Outback Bowl.

The Gamecocks of South Carolina are a hit-or-miss team. They beat Georgia up pretty badly in the Bulldogs' only regular-season loss, winning 35-7. However, they were also embarrassed by Florida just two weeks later. They will take on Michigan in Tampa and will try to improve to 3-2 against Top 25 teams this season.

After taking down Clemson in a huge victory, I see South Carolina winning a tight Outback Bowl.

Prediction: South Carolina 30, Michigan 27

What type of game are you all expecting?

When we face Michigan? I'm thinking a similar type game we saw last year against Nebraska. We seemingly always get off to a slow start in bowl games or heck, not pay well at all, but I see 31-17 type ball game.

The slow game start will be present for sure, but in the end i think we will beat them with 25-20

point spread is 6 favor of the Gamecocks......

Score prediction gamecocks 28 Michigan 17
