OL Jovaughn Gwyn of Charlotte plans to be at the USC-NC State next Saturday in Charlotte.  Those two, along with Duke, make up his final three.  All three are recruiting him hard and he’s talking with coaches from all three.  But action speaks louder than words and Gwyn wants to see the teams perform in person before finalizing a decision.

“It will be good to see how they (USC & NC State) play against each other, and I’m going to have to make it to a Duke game,” Gwyn said.  “I want to see ow the offensive line (for each team) plays and how they play as a team. My parents want me to take official visits but it depends on how I feel after these games.  I’m really waiting to see how they play.  I’ve only seen South Carolina play (last season vs ECU).  I want to see how Duke and NC State play.  With these games I’m going to see if I feel comfortable enough to make my decision without taking official visits.”

Gwyn said the three finalists are bunched tightly together and each offers him what he wants.

“They are all great schools, all have great coaches, and when I took visits there I connected with the players,” he said. “I want to study business or engineers.  If it’s engineering, then it’s Duke or NC State, and if it’s business, it’s USC and Duke.  All three are pushing me about the same.”

Gwyn does not yet have a target date for his decision but said once its made, he’s done.

“Once I’m committed, I’m committed.  I want to be done with everything.”
