USC offensive line coach Eric Wolford continues to look for add-ons to the three commitments he already has for the 2020 class. One prospect who has held his attention for months is OL Vershon Lee (6-3 290) of Woodbridge, VA. Lee is a guard or center prospect with a great deal of athleticism. He and Wolford have gotten to know each other well and he’s looking to learn more about the Gamecocks this weekend.
“They offered me kind of early,” Lee said. “I went down there a couple of times and they often when I was down there. Ever since then we’ve had a strong line of communication. I’ve always wanted to get back down there and see it again and get to know them even more.”
Lee and Wolford have hit it off well. Wolford is recruiting Lee as a guard and Lee likes the way Wolford handles his guys.
“He’s very direct, he’ll let you know what’s going on and he feels about that,” Lee said. “He said my athleticism and my IQ are good.”
Lee said the Gamecocks communicate with him every day and he feels the pull from them. Of all the schools recruiting him, he said the Gamecocks are recruiting the hardest.
“They are very high because I like the communication and I like being able to talk to the people there who are recruiting me,” he said. “They talk to me a lot. They’re sitting very high on my list.”
Lee is scheduled to visit Pitt next weekend. He said he’s also interested in NC State, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
His parents will join him on his official visit to USC.
