Assuming everything goes as planned, running back Marcus Lattimore has gone under the knife for the final time. Running backs coach Everette Sands confirmed on Wednesday night that Lattimore, who suffered a season-ending right knee injury against Tennessee, had the necessary ligaments repaired during surgery last Friday.
Running back Marcus Lattimore traveled to Birmingham, Ala. last week and was under the care of team physician Dr. Jeffrey Guy and noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Head coach Steve Spurrier has mentioned on multiple occasions that Lattimore’s surgery went well and he’s resting comfortably back in Columbia.
Sands when asked if Lattimore needed additional surgeries, responded, “No, he will not.”
Sands went on to say that the injured ligaments had been repaired in the first surgery and there isn’t a timetable currently for Lattimore to be back on the field.
“He is doing OK,” Sands said. “I saw him yesterday and he has already started his rehab. It seemed like his spirits were up, which is good.”
