UGA's offense was not impressive against a defense with a pulse.  I feel we can keep it closer than 32.  21 seems more appropriate.  WIN ANYWAY!!  GO COCKS!!!

Would be wheels on fire if the Gamecock beat Kirby and Muschamp  come Saturday. Would make up for the past three years having Muschamp as are fearless leader.

The ECU game was a reality check for the coaches and players, but I believe Shane and his staff will get everybody roped in.

It doesn't do any good to know what's going on in the game if you're not strong enough to compete.  Fortunately Luke Day has gotten the team strong enough to compete.

The players just need to pull their heads of their backsides and play right.

We looked laughable in the first half, but better to do that against ECU than UGA.

Our defense is pretty good and I expect a classic low-scoring defensive struggle if we can hit some FGs to rest our defense.

The line for the ECU game was pretty much dead on. Though the fan in me says give us a chance, I don’t think we can hang with UGA. They will use the run to set up the deep pass and we can’t counter a high scoring game. I see a 21+ point loss.

I have always hopelessly ignorant and dumb on sports betting.

Is there a way to make money off of us if we beat the odds and win?

I don’t see the +32, while I’m not comfortable in this game it just doesn’t seem that far away.  If Daniels plays he will normally throw a ball or 2 to the defense, just have to be ready when he does.  GA has a great defense, if we play like we did vs ECU they will score on defense.  Play with patience, take what they give.  I believe the line should be closer to +17.

I think we cover.  I would hope they are designing a game plan to roll the pocket and get some extra protection for the QB.  If I am GA I stack the box early and make us prove that we can throw it.  They have an abundance of speed and size on that D and we are going to have our hands full.

I agree that we cover but I don't see us having a pretty offensive game. Georgia's defense is just too good. I only think we cover because our defense is being undervalued. I have a feeling UGA will struggle offensively too. It's going to have to be a defensive slugfest for us to get a chance. But my guess is that UGA wins 24-10.

Shane is going to need to "trick" plays IMO to get us in the end zone or keep it close.  Special teams, D and Offense all will need those plays.  I think we cover 32 points as that is a lot.  I know they have a great D, but I think our D is pretty good and will help us keep it much closer than 32.  If the offense makes the mistakes they made in the first half at ECU, it gets easier for them to cover the 32 points.  Typically we play uga pretty close and I think we may do that this Sat.  They will pull away later in the 3rd / 4th qtr IMO.

Well, the Taters beat SC State 49-3 in their home opener Saturday.  We beat Eastern Illinois 46-0.  We both had a 46-point margin of victory in our home openers.

Scoring one TD in something other than garbage time against UGA would still be one more than the Taters did against the Dawgs.

The Taters are still outside the AP Top 5.

Our defense has sucked the last two years.  Winning a defensive struggle against UGA in a game where FGs are the only points scored would be a statement win for Shane if we could pull it off.

Oh, and look at Taternet:

We've been in their heads since the summer.  All we have to do is play better against UGA than the Taters did, whether we win or lose.

If we somehow manage to beat the Dawgs, that would probably send the Taters out of the Top 10.  Even just playing better than they did against UGA may accomplish that if we play well enough.

All we have to do is focus on the fundamentals and play well between the hedges and see what happens.  Stay focus.

Go Cocks!!

Really do not care what the taters say.  But I don't see where they have anything to say about our matchup with GA.

WEEK 1 against GA they didn't score a TD.  19-37 passing for 178 yds.  Rush 23 attempts for 2 yds !  7 sacks netted them .1 yd a rush.  5-16 on 3rd down and 0-1 on 4th down.  Total offense 180 yds vs GA's 256.  Lost 10-3, and they also lost time of possession.

Are the dawgs gonna carry Muschamp off the field after they beat us? Similar to what the taters did with Brad Scott when after he joined their staff?

The last time we beat a Top 5 opponent.  Mizzou was #5 back then.

Shane was on Spurrier's staff when the 2009 and 2010 wins occurred.  It can happen again with him as the HC this time around.

Honestly for me this is one of those "let's play good D, fight all game, and not get embarassed" games. Anything better than that is gravy; we don't yet have nearly the team talent to entertain pinning too much hope on these kinds of upsets. We will, though, it will just take time.

Anything can happen.  That's why you have to have a thick skin if you're a Gamecock.

LOL
