You bring in Lloyd who they say is the best RB we have gotten since Lattimore and you bring in the best Junior College RB. Those 2 with Harris and Fenwick and you got some serious rushing attack coming.

You bring in Doty and Wyman, a really good QB and WR but may not need either right away.

You got a good shot at getting Burch, a guy like Clowney was and 2 other really tough DL.

You bring in a slew of OL and DB's.

Might not be top 10 but sure does look good for what we needed. Sure is making  our chances of being better next year look a whole lot more realistic. We are losing some really good players, but looks like we are doing a good job finding replacements. I mean we are losing 4 decent RB's but look at what we got coming behind them. Harris and Fenwick both have some experience but White definitely does and Lloyd could be awesome if he plays as good as he did in HS.

Then you have Legette and Vann working with Shi and OrTre and a bunch others, and now you get 2 more good WR's. I think Hilinski or Dak or Doty will have plenty of good targets.

How can you not like what we are seeing coming on board.

Yes looking good. Still in great shape with 5 star DE prospect Jordan Burch and 3 star TE Jaheim Bell. If the class stays intact which is looking like it will top 18 to 19 class maybe as high as 16 or 17. Still might get a surprise or 2 as well.

Five-star DE Jordan Burch - Columbia (S.C.) Hammond School   AS OF NOW GAMECOCK LEANRanked the No. 8 overall prospect in the country and the No. 1 strongside defensive end. Schools have come from all over to try and land the elite pass-rushing prospect. Burch has settled on a final five of South Carolina, LSU, Clemson, Alabama and Georgia - in no order - and is in the final stages of his recruiting process now. Burch will announce his decision to the college football world on Thursday, Dec. 19.Four-star JUCO RB ZaQuandre White - Iowa Western CC      COMMITTED LAST NIGHTWhite originally signed with an enrolled at Florida State out of high school, but transferred out to Iowa Western where he was one of the top junior college backs in the country this season. At last check, White appeared to be focused on South Carolina and Tennessee, two programs he's recently officially visited. White plans to sign on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.Three-star TE Jaheim Bell - Valdosta (Ga.) AS OF NOW GAMECOCK LEANConsidered the No. 18 tight end prospect in the 2020 class, Bell has been a top priority for the Gamecocks for some time. He made a surprise commitment to Florida last April, but backed off that pledge in July. The Gamecocks have been considered the perceived favorite since then. Officially, Bell has a top three of South Carolina, Oklahoma and Florida State. He'll announce and sign on Wednesday.

If...IF...we land Burch this is the turn that took place under Spurrier. Basically the same record in year 4 and then Gilmore, Lattimore, Clowney happened. Again...IF...we were to somehow land Burch...add him to what we have now...we are flirting with a top ten class...without him we are 17-18

So you're saying it's a emoticon-smoking-a-cigar-with-sunglasses-can't-miss-sure-thing eh?

Bold prediction LBC.

I have to remind myself every year at this time to temper down my expectations for a signing class. There will only be 2 or 3 at the most that will make any kind of impact at all. Sure, one or two may make big impacts in year one but that will be about it. Anymore than that and we will be in big trouble next year. lol

highly doubtful Burch come to Carolina.  And this is once again a very mediocre class. I don't care how good Lloyd is. If there is no blocking he will never amount to much. Wolf is seriously under performing. The OL  in my opinion is why the offense was so bad this year.

Really need Burch to join this class. Eric Shaw performed well defensively in the Miss-Alabama HS all star game. He could be the future at buck for us.

Secondary recruiting has been sub par... no talented safeties brought in yet by Champ. RB is getting better but we need more skill players at WR. OL quality needs to improve too.

You think Burch is a Gamecock Lean?   Georgia fans think they got him with his final visit over the weekend.  We will see.   If he comes here we will have TWO 5* Defensive Linemen playing upfront.  That would be impressive.

Later today we will find out.

Boy it sure would be nice to get some good news from the Gamecock camp. Only time will tell if Bobo or Jackson make a difference, but getting elite talent will sure make the team better. Lloyd and Doty were both bigtime recruits and could be great benefit for us, but to get a D like we had with Clowney is also huge. We have some decent players now but losing Javon is hard to replace. You put Huntley and Burch on that line with Pickens, Sandridge, and Sterling and you will see QB really start to worry again. Once they hit that ground a couple times they throw that ball away a lot faster and miss a lot more.

A really good class and some great new things from the coaches might make this team winners again. Year 5 was big for HBC, maybe it will be for Champ too. He said last year was his best team yet. With the right recruits it will be easy to top that.

Happy signing day. Hopefully Sana has a few nice presents for us. We need some good news after this past season.
