Packed house for Will Muschamp Football Camp

July 21, 2017

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The final major recruiting weekend of the summer is underway at South Carolina and several notable prospects are on campus.

One of the primary candidates to join South Carolina’s Class of 2018, athlete Bryce Thompson, has arrived to the camp, but he’s in to watch his teammates from Dutch Fork High School (Irmo, S.C.) and former teammates at Columbia’s Ben Lippen School.

Three-star defensive end Kingsley Enagbare was also spotted inside the practice facility. The 2018 prospect from Hapeville Charter (Atlanta) is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 21 strong-side defensive end in the country.

At least three of the Gamecocks 2018 commitments are also on hand: safety RJ Roderick, wide receiver Darius Rush and defensive Tyreek Johnson, who signed in February of 2017.

Johnson, who’s going through the greyshirt process, is still recovering from a shoulder injury, which delayed his enrollment at South Carolina. Johnson has been cleared for nearly all weight room lifts. Doctors have yet to clear him to do power cleans.

The 3-star recruit is with several former teammates from Lakewood High School in Sumter, S.C.

Greenville (S.C.) High School quarterback Davis Beville returned for camp. He attended one of the final sessions last month, but was injured in the 40-yard-dash. The 2019 prospects is expected to throw for the Gamecock coaches on Friday afternoon.

Ridge Jacobs, a 2021 quarterback from Florida, will also throw this afternoon.

Stay tuned to SEC Country for more from South Carolina’s recruiting weekend.
