Palmer decommits
Dec. 11, 2014
Three-star offensive tackle Paris Palmer (Plymouth, N.C./Lackawanna) has decommitted from South Carolina and is likely to go to Penn State. Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott was scheduled to visit Palmer in home on Thursday night but Palmer's camp said not to bother making the trip.
Palmer was slated to come in and compete for a starting offensive tackle position next season, which leaves Brandon Shell and Mason Zandi as the only two healthy players at the position with experience entering spring practice.
Palmer was scheduled to sign his NLI on December 17 with the Gamecocks and enroll this spring with two seasons to play two. This is the second offensive tackle (Austin Clark) to decommit from South Carolina this recruiting cycle.
