Panthers moving to SC?

I don't follow NFL much at all, but I saw this SI article and figured it garnered a discussion.

Since David Tepper purchased the Carolina Panthers, he has hinted at making changes to where the Panthers play their games. At first it seemed as if he wanted to add a roof to Bank of America Stadium, but recently it has been clear that he intends to move the Panthers to the border of the Carolina's. 

I'd certainly have reason to become a Panthers fan if that were to happen.

I know he wants a new Stadium so not sure if this is posturing to get Charlotte to help pay for it or if he really wants to move.  I always thought it would be cool, seeing as they are the "Carolina" Panthers to have them straddle the border kind of like Carowinds does now.

I agree - this is a ploy to get Charlotte to pony up money. Doesn't really make sense to move a stadium from downtown into the suburbs these days.

They will move somewhere.  Real estate in downtown charlotte is far too valuable.

It would be nice if they did, but can't see them leaving Charlotte....

Right across I-77 from Carowinds there is some property that could probably be bought up and more than enough room for a new stadium right on the border. The only issue then is how do they decide who gets how much tax money. Pineville, and Fort Mill will both want some.
