ATH Tancey Richardson of South Aiken made two unofficial visits to USC last month without landing an offer.  But two camp visits Saturday and Monday did the trick as Richardson picked up an offer from the Gamecocks Monday afternoon.

“They liked that I came out hard and focused and ready to compete,” Richardson said.  “It’s a big one.  Super excited.  I went through all my drills hard and did good in one on ones and a wide receiver and defensive back.”

Richardson spent most of his time working in the secondary.

“They love me at DB,” he said.  Coach Muschamp and Coach TRob love me.  They are going to recruit me hard.”

Richardson also has major offers from Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Colorado State and Coastal Carolina.  The USC offer, however, certainly is a game changer and renews his interest in the Gamecocks.

“You know,  that they believed in me after seeing me at Saturday camp to give me another chance,  it’s really a blessing,” Richardson said.  “It has me thinking a lot but I’m going to wait before I make any commitment and talk with my coaches.  I’m not close yet not yet.  I  haven’t thought about committing yet.”

Richardson will continue with some camps and visits this summer.  He is scheduled to go to Mississippi State June 14th and Kentucky July 11th.
