Yes last nights lost to our instate rival is not fun disappointing as always plus adding on to our losing streak to make it 7-0 in a row we have lost to Clemson. We are 6-6 bowl bound we will know on Dec. 5 who we play and where. I did not think back in August I would saying Bowl bound. But here we are.  Anyhow in your mind how would you rate the regular season on success?

Over achieved
What I expected
Under achieved

Slight improvement in some situations.   Better team attitude and energy. I think we had 3 conference wins so that’s progress over two from last year.  Hoped to see more creativity on both sides of the ball from the new and young coaching staff.   I’m sure they did the best with what they have to work with.     Need a renewed energy towards recruiting better, more talented players to fit whatever systems we end up running.  Staff needs to start demonstrating what and why a player should be excited to come be a part of this.

I would say over achieved, I can say I was thinking 6 wins based on the schedule.  However I didn’t see winning vs FL.  I thought we could beat Kentucky and Missouri.  Taking the sting out of some of the losses and some unexpected wins along with staying competitive against teams and having a chance to win a couple more puts me in the over achieving.

I was not expecting a bowl game so as ugly as it was to watch at times, we still overachieved

Over-achieved. Six wins and a bowl bid, plus two games versus Kentucky and Missouri that we were in good position to win had our offense played better. A bowl win that would give us 7 wins were above what I expected before the season started. At least with the month of bowl prep, we give the additional practice time for our younger players to get them ready quicker for next season, plus Satterfield (if he coaches the team for the bowl) could use all the practice prep time he can get, so it's all good. A positive step in the right direction.....

The ups and the downs were manic at times - but to take this team, with grad assistants and guys with zero FCS offers playing QB, to a bowl game, is pretty damn amazing IMO. All that said, last night really sucked.

We are ranked #35 in the country and #10 in the SEC.  We are headed to a bowl.  This is a huge improvement from the last couple of years.

While this is an improvement Beamer has to be saying I've got to get the talent needed, it must happen you could see the difference in the levels of talent they have to sell this to the people in the transfer portal .  They need an Q.B. with talent we don't have one and only and Freshman coming in .

O.L.  needs some talent and the D line. it might be coaching at the position level the scheme's.

The Jimmie and Joe's aren't at the Gamecocks.

I thought this team was good sometimes, but this is what I expected I said it you can go back an look at my notes, he should be SEC coach of the year with the talent he had to work with,   6-6 get's you praise at South Carolina most everywhere else get's you fired.   I an happy they go to bowl but not overexcited .

Over achieved. I was expecting 4-8 at the beginning of the season. I didn't expect the Florida or Auburn wins, but those along with going to a bowl far exceeded my expectations.

I said Over.  Just based on what I saw last year and our QB situation.  I hope we can find a QB in the portal.  Brown did his best, but he is not that good - for the SEC.  I personally don't think Doty is a SEC QB either, even when healthy.  Lots of other position gaps as well.  Portal and JUCO to help get some immediate talent.

Making a bowl these days is like finally having some movement after you've been constipated for a while. Sure you're happy about it happening but it was sort of inevitable, right? Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while.

Yes, I did vote that the Gamecocks overacheived this season. I don't think anybody in the State of South Carolina thought we'd beat Florida and Auburn. But I also never thought we'd struggle so much to beat Vandy, Troy, or ECU, so I'm not out pounding my chest over our meager exploits, and I'm very trepidatious about this recruiting class and whether it indicates any true marginal improvement versus what the other mid-tier SEC programs recruit. That's where the rubber hits the road for me. The question remains....will Shane Beamer be able to get any traction recruiting against Dabo, Smart, Saban, etc, or are we just wasting more time and resources on another spruce goose?

Staff needs to start demonstrating what and why a player should be excited to come be a part of this.
Hiding the video evidence from GA, TN, MIZZOU, and Phlegmson games would be a DAMN good start!

If Beamer can pull off a win in his first bowl game Gamecocks will have their first winning season what in 4 years. Going to be hard because the Tar Heels can score a heap of points.
