Program greats weigh in on Cousinard: 'He's legit'

South Carolina coaches have said it. Gamecocks players have said it. On Tuesday night, former players continued the positive comments about redshirt freshman Jermaine Cousinard.
After having to sit out last season, the 6-4 guard has been the main storyline of the S.C. Pro-Am. He scored 40 points in day one of the event on Sunday. Multiple teammates went on record saying his showing was nothing new. He took it a step further on Tuesday night, scoring 47 points, including making 6-of-11 three-pointers. Yeah, there isn’t much defense played in the event and there is a lot of scoring in transition, but that did not stop the likes of PJ Dozier and Sindarius Thornwell from speaking positively about Cousinard and what he brings to the upcoming season’s roster.
