Spring practice has begun for QB 4 star Drew Barker 6'3" 210lbs of Hebron, KY and coaches will be streaming thru over the next few weeks. Cincinnati was in on Monday. Barker plans to go thru spring practice, talk to more coaches and evaluate any new offers, and then make a decision in early May. "USC, Kentucky and Tennessee are kind of recruiting me the hardest," Barker said Monday night. "There could be some new schools that will offer during the evaluation period and I'll talk to some new coaches making their last pitch. It's kind of a jumble at the top. One day I want to go to this school and the next day I want to go to that school. I've got to sit down with my parents and pray about it and go over everything and make sure we make a good decision." Barker was at Kentucky last weekend for the spring game. Monday he talked to USC recruiter GA Mangus. "He told me Bryson Allen-Williams committed and he was one of their big targets on defense, and now he wants me to join and shape the class with him," Barker said. Barker said Mangus will be by his practice later this week or next week.

Spurrier's call prompted Allen-Williams' call

04/16/2013

4 star Bryson Allen-Williams 6'3" 210lbsof Ellenwood, I wake up that morning, and when I'm comfortable with my decision, I'm going to pull the trigger," Allen-Williams said Monday night. "I wasn't planning on committing but coach Spurrier was the first coach to call me this morning. He basically told me he wanted me to jump on board. I started thinking about it and I called coach Ward and pulled the trigger." Allen-Williams had long been favoring USC and over the weekend updated his top three as the Gamecocks, Alabama and UCLA. He had numerous other major offers. He said the chance to excel under Ward's guidance was a big part of his decision. "The best players, he's going to set them up to make plays," Allen-Williams said. "In the spring game the linebackers were set up to make plays all over the place." Allen-Williams added that the atmosphere at Williams-Brice Stadium for home games is also alluring to him. "When I go to Williams-Brice Stadium and I hear 2001 play, something comes over me," he said. "I just felt comfortable there and I love the game atmosphere." Allen-Williams who had 88 tackles and 18 sacks last season, will play the weak linebacker spot with USC. Now he will turn his attention to helping Ward recruit his targets in Georgia including RB Stanley Williams, WR Terry Googer and DB Wesley Green.
