3 star QB Jalan McClendon (6-4 195) of Charlotte has offers from SC State, North Carolina, Wake Forest ,East Carolina and Wake Forest with interest from USC, Clemson, NC State, LSU and Georgia among others. He named Clemson, USC, Georgia and North Carolina has his top four in no order. "They're both good schools," said McClendon of Clemson and USC. "They both run the spread. South Carolina has a good football tradition and Clemson is coming up." He plans to visit both schools. McClendon has attended junior days at NC State and UNC and does not have any other trips scheduled. As for what he is hearing from Clemson, he said, "They're telling me they want to evaluate me more to see if they're a goof fit for me and if I'm a good fit for them." The Gamecocks are echoing those sentiments. McClendon did not name a leader.
