Yeah that makes the most sense based on growing up in PhoenixI know folks may have got their hopes up about Rattler a bit, but everything I have read so far indicates he will be staying home in Arizona, most likely at ASU.
I hope Doty stays. He was such a highly valued recruit nationally that I cannot believe he is a bust at this point.Historically speaking, any DT QB like Doty up until now has not stayed with the program for one reason or another.
For that reason, I would not be surprised if Doty were to hit the portal like his predecessors have historically done. Shane knows what he wants to do if that were to happen and I would not be surprised if he continues to stack the deck at QB like he did with Noland.
I like Doty, but he had a rough year. Did not look great. But I am willing to chalk it up not being fully healthy. Having said that, if Shane can bring in a QB out of the portal (Rattler or anyone else) I am all for it.I hope Doty stays. He was such a highly valued recruit nationally that I cannot believe he is a bust at this point.
Rivals considered him the second-best player in the Palmetto State, the second-best dual-threat quarterback in the country and No. 99 overall... rated second in the state, the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the country and No. 85 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings... considered the No. 83 player in the country in the ESPN300.
i hope is gets healthy and has coaches that can help him blossom into a great player HERE.
Doty is a hard-working and good kid.
Agree. As fans we tend to chuck kids to the wood pile too quickly. I would like to see him get an opportunity when fully healthy.I hope Doty stays. He was such a highly valued recruit nationally that I cannot believe he is a bust at this point.

I have no concerns with him. He's going to win us lots of games.Agree. As fans we tend to chuck kids to the wood pile too quickly. I would like to see him get an opportunity when fully healthy.
I think the more high-level competition in the QB room, the better. If next August the coaches feel Luke is the best man for the job, he will get my full support, no doubt.Agree. agree with this as well. Competition and depth are both important.I think the more high-level competition in the QB room, the better. If next August the coaches feel Luke is the best man for the job, he will get my full support, no doubt.
Gotta get some talented, smart big bodies on the line that can learn a scheme. If you have been playing football is it really that difficult? It's either the position coach or players. Hope it's not both. Look how Clemson ripped them apart. If the line stays as bad as it is, it won't matter who the QB is!
Better QB play can certainly help the line but the line also has to be overhauled end to end. Its one of the worst at times that I've seen in decades for us. The pro style line up and play vs the better defenses this year proved to be totally inept. If we don't dramatically improve blocking and QB play, then the offensive style and play calling needs to change completely to whatever we can do reasonably well. Doing the same things over and over expecting different results is...If the line stays as bad as it is, it won't matter who the QB is!
