Sucks to lose a kid we placed but I feel like our RB room is getting better with younger guys. I’d rather have guys with 3-4 years to play than Juco 2 year guys. Not saying I don’t want this kid, just pointing out some positives.
That is certainly a way to look at it and one I tend to agree with. This was going to be our only take at RB for this cycle. The question now is who do we move onto at this point having already lost out on three targets or do we skip this cycle at RB and take a couple next cycle? We still have one RB on the board in Cooley out of NC. With him it is looking more and more like he has a high interest in Duke. Personally, barring a commit from him, I would not be in a rush to add a RB this cycle.
Would've been nice to get Evans like as was stated we placed him in JUCO, but because of the upperclassmen depth at RB we've had the past 2 years, we now have a young depth chart at RB of freshmen and sophomores. Wish we still had a senior RB to sort of anchor this position, and Evans would have served nicely in that regard. But if Lloyd, Harris, or Fenwick step up this season we will be OK. ..
I like Fenwick's work, what little we have seen so far. He is my vote for being a top performer this season. Also looking forward to seeing what Lloyd can contribute.
We still have the JUCO Z. White coming in this year (assuming he makes it) which will add some experience but as you stated, we have three solid backs and a couple of new recruits coming in to add depth.
