Last night Gamecocks were sitting at16 in National rankings now 24 were 6th in the SEC now 12 yuck

Rivals

last night 12th now 21

Thank goodness for the portal saved this class. Was hoping for better high school production..

Key loses to the portal

Brown

key players going NFL

White

Enagbare

The lost of those three mostly like doomed the Gamecocks to 6-7 season. Just do not have the offense and Satt I feel is staying which in a way I knew because of the way they handled Frank Martin last year. Just waiting on everything to calm down. But seems hanging on to Martin might have been a good thing because the team this year is playing a lot better then years past.

Hopefully Satt will turn the offense around with some much needed SEC caliber players. Offensive as bad as they where can only get better I guess. Enclosing, I do like the class only because of the portal and good chance Gamecocks are not done with portal. Remember Kentucky recruiting class was in top 13 and 4th in SEC Missouri right behind them. are class was only 2 from the bottom. That has to chance to be able to compete in the SEC. Food for thought, GO GAMECOCKS!!

This is just the early signing day; we still have until February to finish out, right?

I am more concerned about the OC situation and that might be an advantage that competing recruiters have against us until after the bowl game.

We suck and aren't playing in a meaningful bowl game, but other programs are.  Just because our players are ditching us, it doesn't mean that the players for a better program would do the same.  Just like Shane honoring his commitments to OU last season.

As far as Brown goes, I can understand the emotional reasons why he would want to leave after losing out to Doty and Noland and then Rattler coming in, but after watching him play a few games, I think we all can see why Shane made him the third-string QB.  Brown will end up at a G5 school like Bentley.

Maybe Joyner will finally get some good PT for us.

Satt only has one year left on his contract and that works against us with recruits as well.  Resolving that situation maybe more important than how we do in the bowl game, unless we get blown out again.

The moon is cheese.  I don't know.

This should have been expected, for anyone that knows recruiting. We were pretty full as a class when those highest rankings were reported, while there were many other programs that weren't, but were close to our ranking. So there's always last minute commitments and signings of top prospects that kept their destinations secret from the public, that boosts classes substantially. We had what was our highest-rated commit play us and de-commit at the last minute: that was our biggest hit to our own class. Then other programs just rose past us by getting surprise commits and signings that weren't a part of their class previously. You can't have many of those if your class is already filled up...

That's why when signing days get near, I always look at the other classes near ours, to see how many are full or how many or halfway full, etc. Then you know when there will be some big jumps up and down in the rankings once they all sign......

Honestly unless you are in the top 5-10 then it doesn’t much matter and the transfer portal makes it easier to find kids to fill gaps

It is what it is and we are what we are.  But we have hope and Beamer who appears do be doing it right.  We will get where we want to be I believe.

I feel the same way the portal is so important and Beamer used the portal to the full and could well be a few more biggies to drop are way per the portal. Mayo Bowl most likely will not go are way. Just missing to many key players now that just will not be there.  So 6-7 most likely but next season can see some more wins come are way and a much bigger bowl and being in the Heisman race as well. Beamer is setting the stage for bigger things. This staff bust theirs on the recruiting front and will win more star players and they show how they can use the portal.

Good news the Gamecocks have 8 spots 3 high school and 5 transfer still to go for the class of 2022. So hang on lets see what Beamer and staff can bring in to close out the 2022 class.

The way I see it this early signing bunch is what we expected minus Barham. The loss of 3 of our good players definitely hurts our bowl chances. I am still riding the high from our Oklahoma additions. We can sign 8 more portal players and there a lot of quality guys available. I expect some more big splashes. I am a Beamer believer.

I know a lot of fans got down on Satterfield, not me. I thought he called some good games especially against Florida and Auburn. I am expecting some exciting offense. We need some OL help , receiver and RB with our remaining 11 choices. I am excited to see the next additions.

I am a Beamer believer.
Does the make you a Beamiever?

I agree. Recruiting is not done. Plenty of talent in the portal, and also another signing period in Feb. This is far from over. And with the attention we are getting from Rattler, will give us a chance with other transfers that would probably never have considered us.

While I expect Satt to be back after reading through what Rattler said after listening to the way Beamer answered the offense question at the 4pm presser I’m not 100% he will be.  He was directly asked if Rattler wanted to be in Satt’s offense, he diverted the answer by saying that he wanted to be in a pro style offense and even went as far as saying not to confuse it with an offense that’s to complicated to learn.

Yeah, that's kinda the way I felt after seeing those comments, too.

Sometimes a coach can have a great system in his head, but cancel it out by not knowing how to teach in the best way for the players and I think that would have to involve staff management to a good degree as well.

Maybe it's just as simple as the way the plays are named or something like that.

JMHO: this is more psychological than anything else - losing Barham and McClendon dropped our class rankings but doesn't take away from the excellence that we have and that ABSOLUTELY improved the team. McClendon is not a done deal, as the charges were dropped, and we look good to get another 4-star QB so we may get those numbers back. Just as importantly, we have 5-6 spots to fill with portal players who will undoubtably be better and more impactful than the players were are losing ... so, to me, all good and we are getting better!

For example, I see Keenan Nelson as the same kind of building block SOS put in place with Devonte Holloman - a huge pickup.
