This is what I've heard from players and parents after the loss. Take it for what it's worth.
1. The players didn't get to sleep until 5am after the LSU game.
2. It was fall break before LSU and many of the players had exams last week.
3. 5 starters had the flu last week.
4. We were battered and bruised coming off a tough physical game.
5. A terrible week of practice (see above.)
I don't find these to be excuses but rather legit reasons why the team wasn't 100% focused and didn't perform their best at UF. The line b/t victory and defeat is so thin in the SEC that I can understand why we didn't execute.
I know many folks will say "Win anyway." I just wish it was that easy. We'd be undefeated national champions every year if it were.
Hopefully, the fans will get behind these kids and create a tough environment for UT come Saturday.
