Recruiting Bullets: Nix makes his decision; Kelly lands an offer; USC commit injured

USC target 7-0 center Rozelle Nix of Pensacola JC, FL committed Sunday night to Pittsburgh. Nix visited Pitt over the weekend and announced his decision on Twitter. Nix had narrowed his list to USC, Pitt and Loyola Marymount.
Former Clemson quarterback Chad Kelly of East Mississippi JC Saturday was offered by Virginia Tech. That’s the first public offer from a FBS team for Kelly who revealed the offer on Twitter. There have been rumors about Kelly having interest in Tennessee and Alabama. Kelly has led East Mississippi to a 9-0 record. He’s passed for 2874 yards, 35 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He’s also rushed for 338 yards and 4 touchdowns.
USC commitment LB Sherrod Pittman of Jacksonville suffered a broken leg in his game Friday night and will miss the rest of the season.
Coastal Carolina picked up a commitment from P/PK Evan Rabon of South Florence. He’s 10-17 on field goals and 43-45 on PATs. He’s also averaging 40 yards per punt.
Clemson lost a commitment for its 2016 baseball class from pitcher Sawyer Bridges of Summerville. Bridges visited Georgia over the weekend. He’s also visited USC in the past. Clemson does remain under consideration by him.
