What do you guys think we need to do in order to have a bigger presence in the state of NC. I see every year that NC puts out big time 4 and 5 star kids, and for some reason clemson, UGA, and UF have a much larger presence in that area. We are the closest SEC school, had 3 great seasons in a row and it still seems like we are not making a big push in that state. I know it takes a long time to change perception, but imo we need to find a way to get in on these big time prospects.

Do you guys feel like playing against UNC every year would help that?
Do you think just winning will help this?
Do you think just the SEC becoming more powerful will help this?

Years when talent is down in SC, we really need to be able to hit big in both ATL and NC. I understand we got one of the top players in NC last year, but he also grew up born and raised a USC fan. So how do we make our presence felt in that state? We have done well in ATL where the competition if very fierce. Has it been the recruiters that we have had in that state? I know when Jay Graham was here it seemed like out of nowhere we were able to start getting in the game with big time kids in NC, so it makes me think that its been a recruiter issue. I think having Deke in there should help a good bit, and think besides lawing helping us with havelock, he didnt really help us a great deal after landing Robertson. Who else recruits NC? I think elliot does as well, and seems like he has been doing ok in that state. Not trying to bash any coaches here, thats not my point. Just trying to figure out how we can become bigger factors in that state, and personally I think if we can play UNC often, whether its at home, at UNC, or on a neutral field, I think NC kids seeing us beat them on regular basis would help us a great deal.

I think we will have another solid class this year, but I think the state of NC is what could make it special and starts with spain.

What do you guys think?
