Gamecocks are in the top eight with WR TJ Abrams (5-11 175) of Lehigh Acres, FL. The others are Tennessee, Penn State, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida State, Vanderbilt, and Florida A&M. Last season Abrams caught 37 passes for 429 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also rushed for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns. For his career, he had 67 catches for 921 yards and 11 touchdowns.

TE Michael Smith of Savannah said Monday night he will not be able to make the Carolina junior day Saturday because of a basketball game. He is announcing on the 24th with Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Arkansas as his four finalists.

Northwestern WR Elijah Caldwell plans to take his official visit to Carolina this weekend. He was at NC State last weekend.

DB Cedric Franklin (6-2 185) of Marietta, GA plans to visit Carolina Saturday for their junior day.
Gamecock target OT Mike Williams will visit Michigan State on January 28th. He will visit Carolina this weekend.
